This item is a beautiful brass teapot. It is hand painted Cloisonne which is a kind of artwork made of red copper roughcast and decorated colorful glaze. This painting method was well known in the time of Jingtai of Ming Dynasty (1450--1456) for the most exquisite production. This teapot is not extremely colorful but is quite beautiful in a cream glaze. It measures 4 3/4" tall (not including the handle), 6" from tip of spout to back of teapot and 4" wide. The handle itself measure 3 1/2" tall.
